NEW PUBLICATION with Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review

Updated: Nov 22, 2020

This month, one of my favorite poems I've written was published in the newest issue of Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review. You can read my poem "Bison Skulls to Be Used for Fertilizer, 1892" below, or you can purchase your own printed copy of Issue 52 by clicking here.

This poem is just one of many I've written over the past few years focused on the prairie. It was inspired by a famous 19th century photograph featuring a jaw-dropping pile of bison skulls in Michigan waiting to be ground down to dust and turned into fertilizer. It also features the slightest of nods to Melville—kudos if you can find it!

Thanks for reading.
